What a great read. - Rated
I really enjoyed this book.
It's written in a slightly different format to other Adele Parks books that I've read which I actually found worked really well and enables you to really get into the characters.
Very modern with true to life dilemas!
Could hardly put it down.
It follows on from 'Playing away' so it does help to read that one first to see how the characters came to be where they are.
Young Wives Tales - Rated
I found this an enjoyable read - especially as the copy I bought was signed by the author herself (lovely woman).
Loved it so much that I had to re-read the pre-quill "Playing Away" - which I am enjoying for the 2nd time around, seeing what the same characters were up to a few years ago!!!!
Go get it!!
Disapointing - Rated
Having read Adele parks playing away which was fabulous this follow on book was very disapointing, The characters had none of the charm as in the previous book and one character in particular rose got on my nerves with how drippy she was, and a hell of a lot of the story was about her, Unfortunatly i found this title boring and not a lot happend. I love adele parks books but this title just didnt live up to her previous novels.
Fantastic! - Rated
This is a fabulous book with a fantastic style of writing. The characters, plots and various situations are believable and you can be totally engrossed within the book before you leap to the last page! I loved it!! It was sooo funny and rip roaringly hilarious in some parts and other situations pulled intensly at my heart strings. I loved Rose.. she was soooo sweet.. but like wise I loved all the characters too..! I didnt even realise that Connie was the same character from "Playing away!" until the end!! How funny!!! Overall a brilliant read- a must buy book!!
A brilliant, thought provoking sequel - Rated
Adele Parks is deservedly one of the UK's most talented authors of female friendly fiction. In this sequel to the bestselling 'Playing Away', Parks continues the story a few years later, but using both major and minor characters from the first book to tell their side of the story via first person narrative. The narrators - John, Rose and Lucy provide great insight and their personalities juxtopose one another rather nicely and the characters of the two husbands, Peter and Luke are very muted, to ensure the reader doesn't get overtly confused.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a compelling read about modern day relationships and motherhood.
