Great book but no pictures - Rated
When I was recommended to try the Candida Diet to try and overcome health issues I was not best pleased...but I would try anything. I purchased this book to try and help me out and it is a great book. There are alot of things I havent tried as I am not that organised but my dad is going through chemo at the mo and he has been recommended by a chinese doctor to try a very similar diet so I will give more recipes a try so we can both eat them.
The book is not just about recipes, it does give you info on candida and clear guidelines of what you can and shouldnt eat and supplements you should take.
The only reason I didnt give a 5 star is because it doesnt have pictures....that may sound really sad but I am a very visual person and would have given more recipes a try if I could see what they looked like first.
Brilliant! Thank you Erica. - Rated
I am 31 years old. I have severe eczema for almost a year now and I was diagnosed with POF this year. My eczema on my hands got so bad few weeks ago, I needed stiches! I hit the wall and doctors could not help me.. I sat alone at home thinking what is there I can do??? What is wrong with me??? Until a visitor asked me "did you concider that perhaps you could have candida?". I started my research and found this book. I have been on the four point plan for over 2 weeks now. Believe it or not my eczema is nearly gone! I am sticking to the diet and love experimenting with recipies from the book. I am now also addicted to the oat bread :) I feel more awake and more energetic and on top of that I lost nearly two dress sizes. I was always called a healthy eater, people always comment that I eat well but I didnt realise that my diet still required some amending! So now I just follow this book and buy organic cosmetic products and not look back. If you feel off, tired, lethargic, have skin problems - buy this book, give it a go and you won't believe what your body is capable of. Good luck! xox

It gave a clear and consice explaination of Candida, how and why it happens. Also I was looking for easy to follow recipes that would help me deal with Candida, and Erica's book did that for me. And at the price it was a steal.

My wife has suffered from Candida for getting on for a year and this book has helped her enormously in coming to terms with various aspects of the illness in particular the dietary side.

I managed to do this diet for 2 months but started to cheat the other day with chocolate. Probably because I skimped on supplements to regulate blood sugar sold to me through a nutritionist. The health benefits were very noticable with increase in energy (dramatic) but I couldn't cope with the bad eczema and not using any steriod cream as recommended in her other book. I will probably do the diet again in the near future & not take so much caprylic acid which undoubtably contributed to my very bad eczema. I have probably eaten better in the last 2 months than I ever have and took up the diet because I low blood sugar symptoms of shaking, feeling sick and permanantely exhausted. all of which almost completely disappeared on the diet. On diet I also suffered mood swings, cracks at the sides of the mouth, leg & arm rashes all of which is expected. I liked a lot of the recipes but was disapointed at first that cakes and pastries didn't taste sweet, but after a month they started to taste much better when I had lost my sweet tooth. I couldn't cut down smoking either I smoke 12 a day and she says max 5 if you want to get well. I don't feel it was a waste of time but do feel like I have really missed out on my favourite foods. This is another reason why I failed probably. (wrong frame of mind) I had 1 caprylic acid for 2 weeks then 2 caprylic acid for the next week and my rashes just got consistently worse which got me down. On reflection I should have just reduced them again to decrease the die off effects. So will be much more careful next time. Don't be put off by this review I really did feel amazingly energetic but having eczema all my life I am not used to it being there almost constently for a month. The summer is probably the worse time for it so I will probably do it again in the winter. Also I wasn't eating wheat onions or tomatoes as well as the recomended - no fruit, yeast, fermented products, sugar, stimulants etc.
