SPOT Goes to the Park, lift-the-flap book - Rated from Eric Hill. This review is for the PUFFIN paperback, lift-the-flap version/1991. 22 thick, shiny pages in the popular 2-page spread format. Large bold, easy-to-follow text and 9 sturdy flaps ensure successful lifting/replacing, time and time again. Colourfully illustrated throughout. In this story, Spot is going to the park, with Mum (Sally) and his friend Helen, as it is such a nice day. He takes his ball and manages to fluster a few pigeons, get it lost behind a newspaper, then uses in a game of `piggy-in-the-middle', when Tom appears to make a trio. The ball finally ends up going a little astray but is kindly returned, so all is well that ends well! Delightful book, further enhanced by the endearing expressions and the occasional `helpful' comment from the characters hidden behind the flaps!
