ADMITTEDLY A LOT OF `COINCIDENCES` AND `HARD TO BELIEVE` BITS.. - Rated and a part of me really did want to rip this book to bits and scream - ` THIS COULD NEVER HAPPEN IN A MILLION YEARS - DO YOU THINK WE`RE STUPID ??? !!!` - but it was just so enjoyable and the twists and turns kept me riveted right up to the end ! I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though a lot of it was the most ridiculous make-believe i`ve read in a long time. It was......let`s say `different` - and i will certainly be reading more of sarah rayne. ( Well come on - it`s just a novel - not like she`s trying to pass it off as a true story is it..? ) Excellent! - Rated Bought this book on impulse in a cheap bookstore and it was marked down to Â£2. I found this novel to be clumsily written with weak characterisation, weak dialogue and a cliche ridden, totally silly plot. One is always prepared to accept coincidence and serendipity in a well-written novel - just think of Dickens - but Rayne's characters are simply cardboard cutouts. I simply could not care in the slightest what happened to any of them because she has failed to make them come alive.
