A big disappointment - Rated
From reading the blurb on the back, I thought this book sounded excellent; I could hardly wait to read it. Unfortunately, it proved to be a crashing disappointment. It's clumsily written - especially the dialogue, which is wooden and unrealistic - and the plot disintegrated as it went along. I ended up skipping to the end - while the basic idea was still exciting enough for me to want to see how it all turned out, I just couldn't face ploughing through all the pages of poor writing that would have been needed to get there. It's a real shame that such potentially good ideas were so poorly written.
For teenagers - Rated
This is the first book in quite a "nice" trilogy and it is written is such a simplistic fashion that would appeal to teenagers or people who like straight forward fantasy. It is quite predictable and a bit corny but safe and easy for younger readers.
The Best Book Trilogy Ever - Rated
Without a doubt, The Guardians Of Trilogy is my favourite book trilogy. It is better than such favoured books as Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Lord of the Rings, Alex Rider books and all others I have read.
These books are truly amazing.
With such loveable characters and a twist at every page, this book will keep you hooked to your seat, laughing and weeping throughout.
I highly recommend it- you will not be disappointed.
The Named - Rated
I totally loved this book!! I picked up the trilogy to read during my summer holidays a couple of years ago, and was totally blown away. I've read all of Marrianne Curley's books, and I was very worried when I read about her illness, I hope she's okay. If you have read bad reviews about this book, don't acknowledge them, because this book is amazing, and it is written by a brilliant author.
Enthralling!! - Rated
One of the best fantasy books I've ever read! I bought it 2nd hand ages ago and it sat on my bookshelf until my friend (A middle -aged Harry Potter fan) asked to borrow it. When she returned it, she said 'READ IT'! It's excellent!!' And WOW - it really was.
Unlike other reviewers, I liked the story being told from different characters points of view and I never guessed the traitor until just before the end of the final book!
After finishing this one, I immediately ordered the next 2 in the trilogy (The Dark and The Key) which were both equally as good and was so sorry to reach the end!
Thank you so much Marianne Curley for enriching my (and many of my friends') reading pleasure with your amazing imagination (and, if you ever read this, I do hope you have now fully recovered from your illness).
BUY IT or at the very least borrow it and you're in for a treat!
