Wonderful - Rated I really liked this book. Easy to read, good explanations and very clear figures. I wish I had read it years ago. If you are interested in understanding crystal stuctures and inorganic solids, read it. The chapers on magnetism and material properties are perhaps not quite as good but if you are completely innocent in those areas it is a good starting point.
