Outstanding!! - Rated I don't know how I managed to miss the first book from this author. This book is her second, and it flows beautifully. Her characterisiations are interesting to read and apart from a few minor errors that perhaps should have been picked up, when proof read, this was an all round delight. If you like your thrillers with serial killers and a hint of reality then this is one for you. The graphic nature of this novel holds your attention without allowing the mind to drift away as a result of inane descriptions. I am reading her other books at the moment and will be waiting impatiently for the new one due to be launched in July. A must read in this genre. Unexpectedly good - Rated This is one book I read for just trying a new writer. It turned out to be very good and though rough there is good policework. I am confused as to try another by the same author but most probably I shall eventually. Though bigger than most thrillers, the pace gets faster as you move on and you get more involved. When I started it, I thought I might not complete it, what a cliche', but its not, and there is alot of sense in the sequence of events. Its more American style with moving events rather than Brittish with character analysis.Sometimes you just need one or the other type, so its style is definite and you can choose. Intriguing dark thriller - Rated An intiguing thriller with pschological twists that will be sure you don't put it down. A novel full of darkness and suspense with terrifying moments but you'll still have to keep on reading. A definite recommended read. Although a little slow to get going, once it did, this hooked me and I couldn't put it down. Grave Doubts has a truly evil, sadistic killer, with likeable detectives that I'd be happy to read more about. It's tense and you never quite know how it's going to end up. I won't spoil it by revealing how it all pans out, but it's a thrilling conclusion to a gripping read. Another reviewer used the word 'intense', and quite right too. If you're looking for something different to tickle your crime tastebuds, and have been drawn in, as I was, by the cover, don't hesitate to give this one a read. Excellent. Gripping - Rated An excellent book. The balance was right - we got into the background of some of the characters and a couple of sub-plots around the police characters. But never too much to detract from the main plot which moved along at a well judged pace. The plot was meticulously developed, gruesome in its detail in places, chilling in its topicality (I'd think twice before gaming on-line now!) And a wonderful crescendo towards the end - I found the pages turning themselves feverishly as we moved towards the tense conclusion.
