Great Book - Rated
I have recently read this book and was impressed with how well Chris has tackled this subject.
For many there are aspects of test and inspection that appear complicated and confusing when trying to understand not only how to carry out the inspection and test, but why the test is being applied and then how to document it.
Chris explains each stage clearly and makes great use of illustrations and photographs to assist the reader. Every aspect is covered and I particularly liked the examples of completed certificates and associated documents.
The exercises in the back of the book enables you to have a go at completing the documents and then comparing against completed examples so that you can see whether you have the right level of understanding.
Throughout the book there is an emphasis on safety and carrying out your work without endangering yourselves and others. This book may be 233 pages long, but don't be put off, plenty of photographs and illustrations are the reason making this a very useful reference book for students and experienced electricians alike.
just the job - Rated
This book was 'just the job' for my son who is in first year of apprentaship. This is the first book I have seen him read for a long time
good book but 16th not 17th - Rated
ok this was rated as a great buy for anyone doing there 2391 , and it is in respect of procedures and clear pictures. but i wasnt too thrilled to buy it 14 months after the 17th edition regs came in and find it still refers to 16th edition regs , which because of changes in the numbering system and extra chapters make it very dificult to find the reg the author is referring to.
to be honest they shouldnt really be selling an out of date book , it wouldnt of took alot to update it to 17th edition and scrapped the left overs. you can buy some books which are never affected by time , but sorry this is not one of them.
dissapointed overall and have had to purchase a more up to date guide
The best of the lot so far. - Rated
I have quite a few electrical books, for some odd reason I cant stop buying them. However this is quite easily the best I've read so far. The text is easy to understand and the pictures very clear. Like another review before this I'm hopeful of a few more from this author.
An excellent book - Rated
The clear pictures and easy to follow step by step guides were extremely helpful when it came to taking my C&G 2330 Level 3 practical exams. The section on completion of test certificates was particularly good, putting everything into plain language.
I would recommend this book to any trainee electrician.
