This book is really fantasic. I bought it at the very beginning of my pregnancy and I must say I read it all immediately. Then I was getting back to it almost every evening. This book is a practical guide for every first time mum, full of information and advices. I can honestly say that it was more helpful for me then my NHS midwife. In this book I found a solution and advice for every single problem that had accured during my pregnancy. Now I'm 7 months pregnant and I'm getting ready for the big day and I want to say a big THANK YOU to the Author. I will recommend this book whenever i have an opportunity.

A great book for anyone going through pregnancy. Beautifully presented, knowledgeable, personal, with good detail but not in any way frightening like some others I've read! The advice and information is presented in a positive way, by a woman who has experienced the process herself with it's ups and downs, you feel as though it is written by someone who cares. Highly reccommended.

As a first time Mum-to-be I have found this book to be an absolute God-send. It has helped prepare me for my pregnancy at each stage and feel confident about the changes taking place.
I really like the way it tells you how your baby is developing, what is happening with your own body, and how you are likely to be feeling. It is both fascinating and practical, and it's well written toboot - not too technical or patronising, just helpful. It is also full of really useful pictures of yours and your baby's development, unlike most of the other books I looked at that seemed to be full of gory or gross photos of things that can go wrong.
I couldn't have gone through my pregnancy happily without this book; I can't recommend it enough.

If you are pregnant for the first time like I am and have no idea this is a great book. It was the most up to date pregnancy book I could find with modern pictures and 4D scan images (most books pics are from the 80's!). I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures of a baby developing, just as much as reading the weekly 'whats happening'. My only area of improvement would be to break down the week by week information more, however the book more than makes up for this by giving an insight in to the birth, bringing your newborn home and some good 'mums' tips.

This book answered my questions, and almost set my mind at rest, I just have a small concern because it came out in April 2005. I seem to read about new problems (and advances) in the papers everyday, so just wonder if much has actually changed.
