Customer Reviews

A book that got better and better - Rated 4/5
This was a really good book, although I struggled to keep turning the pages at the beginning. I was very tempted to give up at one point, when Adeline was describing being beaten at the age of 6 and how she had to walk to and from school rather than begging for money to get a tram. I suppose I wanted to give up at this point, as I have a 6 year old daughter myself, and I hate anything linked to child abuse and I cannot imagine why anyone would want to harm a child. I did however persevere and was glad that I did, as the book got better and better as Adeline grew with age and the story progressed. The last part of the story was great and the ending was worth all the perseverance.

extremly moving - Rated 5/5
This book tells the true story of a girl unwanted by her parents and howshe grows up only wanted her parents to say that they are proud of her andthat they love her. You will have to read the book to find out if thathappens. The book is so good it made my cry and i feel that you have tofeel sympathy for the unwanted chinese daughter. The book now makes mecertain on never wanting to see an unwanted child. Everyone should beloved
