Having read this book when I was at school, I ordered it for my granddaughter, who is 5 yrs old. The book is really lovely, but I have to say that although the illustrations have been bought up to date, the text has NOT, which is a bit disappointing, as some of the words my granddaughter does not understand, so I have to put it in to modern day language and skip some of the story line , for it to make sense to her, which is a shame as this to me is a story book that most people of my age remember from school. This was a book that I read many times, and thoroughly enjoyed in my day, but times have changed and reading has changed. It is a shame this book was NOT bought up to date in all catagories.
