Forget Harry Potter and his mates..... - Rated ...Jennings is it! I read this when I was 8 years old. 20 years later I picked it up again on a rainy day and it is still the funniest book ever. The relationship between Jennings & Derbyshire is absolutely wonderful - so many hilarious misunderstandings and mishaps. My favourite bit is the shennanigans that follow Jennings falling into the stream. Read and weep with laughter...... Still hilarious decades later - Rated How I devoured the Jennings books when I was a child. And now, 40 years later, they are still hilarious and hit the spot. My children also delighted in the antics of Jennings and Darbishire and the rest of the crowd at Linbury. This book can be recommended without any reservation. Jennings and his friend Darbishire are boarders at Linbury Court school, and this very, very funny book shows the excitement, boredom and fun of boarding school life. It also includes accounts of Mr Wilkins' bad temper, Matron's reaction to Jennings' dip in the pond, and Elmer, the fish that got away!
