Utterly Enjoyable - A must for Animal People - Rated
I bought this book because I love animals, and happened to see it on the shelf at a book shop. It is a thoroughly delightful read and I enjoyed it from cover to cover. There were a couple of occasions where I laughed out loud. My favourite character was Odin the Raven; Rex Harper's descriptions of him and his antics are a hoot! I hope Rex writes a second book about his menagerie.
Since finishing the book, I have passed it on to a colleague who also loves animals. It is a book I will keep and I know I will read again. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes animals or animal tales. Great for a birthday gift or Christmas stocking filler.
5 stars is too few to give this book, it deserves heaps more!

The most enjoyable book I have read recently is Rex Harper's Otter on the Aga.
His love, consideration and sensitivity for all creatures great and small is unconditional, as was my reading pleasure.
Over the years I shall revisit this book time and time again for another refreshing reassurance of the goodness of man.
My grandmother used to say "make new friends but keep the old for one is silver ,the other gold"
Rex Harper is pure gold, through and through and his book is a lasting treasure.
If you love animals, and nice people, don't make a resolution to read it some day- read it right now!

Very enjoyable - Rated
I have recently read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very easy to read and having visited the RSPCA centre near Perranporth which was run at the time by Rex and his wife Julie, made it even more enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book!
Life with animals - Rated
This is one of the best books I have read - it is a mixture of so many creatures that we all have known and loved, plus a few we have not been lucky enough to meet. A great read
