LIVELY - Rated 5/5
I thought maximum ride, the angel experiment was a fantastic book.
The reason I rate this book five stars is because of the powerful story line.
Max,Iggy,Nudge,Angel,Fang and Gasman are six bird kids which are 2% bird and 98% human.
When monster type scientists kidnap Angel, the youngest kid out of the flock,Max knows she needs to fight back.
In this thrilling, funny and honest book, every page holds a new challenge.
Evan though this book is a young adult, ten year olds like me should still be able to read it.
So whenever your looking for a original and different story then you should pick this book of a shelf.

Absolutely brilliant - Rated 5/5
This book is written for teenagers but I am a fan of James Patterson and read this books reviews and it sounded good I also own the adult books that this story sprung from and loved them and this book was just as good. It was soo good that I lent it to my younger sister who is actually a teenager (but normally only reads very thin books) and she absolutely loved it too, so I had to order the next book....

max ride - Rated 5/5
i came across this book by accident it was for sale in poundland and having read many James Patterson books i decided to buy it not realising it was amied at teenage readers.the book is great, enjoyable if you are an adult as well as a teenager, my daughter is reading the books in the series too. there are currently 3 books in the series I have since read all other books in the series and am looking forward to the new book that comes out next april. aparently there is also a film planned for 2008.
Enjoy!!!!

one of the best books ever!! - Rated 5/5
As you can see this book is one of my all time favourite books, i love it and am constantly rereading it. The plot of the story is incredibly exciting, and there is never a dull momentas you will often find your self moving to the sway of the on-ground and in-air battles, don't worry it's not that bloodthirsty. The characters are fabulously crafted and are really believable (except for the whole flying part). every one should read this book if you appreciate well written literature and have a taste for adventure. i recommended this to one of my friends and she has been thanking me ever scince, she even read the whole series in about six days, i hope i can convince you in to doing the same.

Junk reading - Rated 1/5
If books were food, then this one would be a cheeseburger. Not a nice burger, made from organic beef and homemade pickles, but the sort you buy from a van in the marketplace at 1am when you wonder if the meat might be dog and the cheese has certainly got more e-numbers than protein.

This book is pap. The plot lurches between stupidity and improbability, with some massive sprinklings of schmaltzy American sentimentality about cute ickle kiddies roughly every four pages. The story is so thin that it reads like a rejected episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, stretched out over several hundred painful pages. The vocabulary is tiny, and so are the ideas. The characters are so flat you can see behind them. The fact that one character is called "The Gasman" because he (wait for it) farts a lot sums up how desperate this book is.

Don't waste your money on this. Unless you're a desperate parent whose child has the reading ambition of a cockroach, in which case this stuff is so unchallenging that it might be worth a try, get something with a bit more substance. This is junk reading for junk minds.
