Customer Reviews

Disappointing - Rated 2/5
Well I have to say I wasnt very keen on this book -did not live up to sheilas usual expectations! I rooted for character Darcey but I wasnt drawn to her and couldnt relate to her like I do with most characters in books - I found the book warbled a bit on and on about nothing and a few times I skipped a few pages as it was just going on about "nothing" ! I dont think I would recommend this books - not like I would her others

Good but definately not her best - Rated 3/5
I love Sheila O Flanagan novels and eagerly await the latest .....but this one is far from her best.
Darcey is a likeable 'anti heroine' but she doesnt inspire that much feeling towards her - just a passing tolerance, bordering on mild irritation, of her constant bumbling.
Nieve is so unlikeable from the word go, that like other reviewers, I couldnt have cared less what happened to her, my only wish being that she would have faded out of the story early on.
Unlike previous novels by this author, many of the secondary characters are so 'grey' as to be almost non existent, and sadly they therefore dont add the necessary background to the plot lines.
If you have never read Ms O Flanagan, DONT start with this one, try the earlier, and much better stories.
Here's to a return to top class writing with her next novel.

Fantastic read - Rated 5/5
I am in the middle of this book and i love it.
Truely a brilliant read.

Cracking Book - Rated 5/5
Sheila never fails to write a brilliant story - you can relate to the characters and as ever her books are difficult to out down. I read this one in 3 days!

What's with the ending? - Rated 2/5
Am I just stupid but the ending was too abrupt, I almost thought I had got a book with the last 10 pages missing. Normally I love her books, this one left me feeling something was unfinished. Otherwise she is am amazing writer.
