Engaging book - Rated
Interesting read if at times difficult subject matter. I found myself reading the final chapters at 2am as I wanted to see how the story ended. I found my views of the central character Nathan fluctuating throughout the book but in the end I found myself feeling great sympathy for his moral plight. Well worth reading but not for those that want a happy conculsion.
The brothers bishop - Rated
A sharply witty book full of dark humour, twists and turns that keep you glued page after page. It has an ambivalence to it that may challenge some of your views or pre conceived ideas. The characters are engaging and beautifully drawn. I found myself disliking and loving the narrator in equal measure. The inevitable ending hurt though.
Moving - Rated
I don't think I've cried to much reading a book. It was so moving.
At first I was exactly consumed by the novel and it wasn't until the last couple of chapters that I was truly gripped. It's a fantastic piece of literature.
Another great read.... - Rated
Another of Bart Yates' works of art. Being the follow up to his excellent 'Leave Myself Behind' I was unsure how this book would read, but after the first page or two I knew this was going to be as addictive, thought provoking (& sometimes quite disturbing) funny & 'Real' as ever. I will definately be buying any future Bart Yates novels!!!!!!!!
excellent! - Rated
