nobody read this book?? worth buying - Rated . . 4 stars only because i guess i haven't found the perfect handbook for math calcs (which would be very thick indeed). nice size (kind of A5) and good layout and font size: looks professional. easier than carrying around your notes from your degree course. inside it's got useful text (not just rambling on about some 1/4 mile time): has short bits about MEP, cylinder acceleration. Sure it's not in detail but will give you an idea of what formula to keep in mind when looking through other books (say on engine design). It's in imperial units. The chapter about torsion bars is useful. I doubt the leaf spring math will be spot on (see Chassis Design by Olley and Milliken for better math) but i guess it will be a good approximation. Even has buckling! Wow, not many books for enthusiasts go to the bother of including this. Definitely a book to keep next to Race Car Vehicle Dynamics (Milliken), Chassis Design (Milliken, GM notes from Maurice Olley), Vehicle and Engine Technology (Heisler) and various others. It's amazing how few of us can actually remember the things we learn all day long. So this book is easy to carry to any race meetings or meetings with people in industry in general.
