This is a hugely captivating aid to the understanding of nocturnal phantasms. It has made genuine sense of some of the wildest flights of my subconcious- including the recurring dream in which Doreen and I are competing against Margaret Thatcher and Hercules Poirot in the mixed-doubles semi-final of a local 'Kerplunk' tournament. Just as the match starts turning in our favour, Ernst Stavro Blofeld rides in on a cow and begins to sell super-strength Omega-3 supplements and Global Hypercolour underwear (at suspiciously appealing prices) before leading the crowd in a gigantic conga to the theme from 'Blockbusters'. While this is still going on, Vanessa Feltz appears (blacked up with Bovril like a minstrel) and announces into a megaphone that the organisers have been forced to cancel the remainder of the tournament due to the global shortage of marzipan- causing me to awake in cold sweat!

While I shall avoid boring you with the details of what that particular dream signifies, I can assure you that this book left no loose ends in its explanation. However, it has not been able to decipher quite all of my dreams- I'm still pretty much at a loss on the one in which Doreen decides that she no longer likes my home-made sausages and declares her intention to get some from the butcher.
