Great story, not so good illustrations - Rated 4/5
This graphic novel is a reprint, in a book form, of Peter Parker: Spider-Man #44-47 (2002). In this story, Peter Parker feels that he has hit bottom - his marriage to MJ is on the rocks, the death of Gwen Stacy still haunts him, and his life has turned out worse than he could ever have imagined. But, just when he thinks that things can't get any worse, they do. Norman Osborn has picked up the costume of the Green Goblin again, and has woven a web around the Spider-Man. Can Peter overcome his arch-enemy? But what will be the cost?

This book has a great story: intense, with plenty of suspense to keep you reading. Overall, I think that this is one of the best Spider-Man stories I have read in a while. My one complaint is with the illustration-work. The images are drawn somewhat idiosyncratically, looking like caricatures, which my eleven-year-old son found quite disappointing. But, that said, we did enjoy the book, and recommend it to you.

A must have book for Spider-man fans - Rated 5/5
The return of the Green Goblin is an essential book for Spider-man fans. From the outset it can be viewed essentially as straightforward superhero story with a hero and a villain fighting each other to the death, but what can be seen as the story develops is the nature of the relationship between the two main characters is the focus here.
As a Spider-man book it is possibly one of the darkest I've seen since Todd MacFarlanes "Torment" and the Amazing Spider-man "Pursuit" and "Shrieking" stories, most of the action is set in darkened areas ( a showdown between Spider-man and the Green Goblin in the rain proves to be most effective) with Humberto Ramos' artwork delivering an effective atmosphere. The writing of the two main characters is at its most effective at the stories climax with a surprising exchange between them at the end which again adss something new we haven't really seen in the Spider-man universe.
The only problem I can find with this book is it may appear confusing to readers not familiar with some of the big Spider-man events (the death of Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn and the relationship bewteen Peter and Norman) but for those of you who know this stuff, BUY IT.

Their greatest battle! - Rated 5/5
This book is a must for all serious Spider-man fans. It features the latest and greatest battle between the wall crawler, and his greatest foe, The Green Goblin!

This book is so good, because it encompasses all the things that make a story great. The two protaganists are drawn well and their final battle is spectacular to say the least.

Angered by Peter's refusal to become his heir, the Green Goblin, aka Norman Osborn decides that it is time for one of them to die. Osborn tries to lure Spider-man by striking at those close to Peter Parker. Spider-man is forced to play the Goblin at his own game, and may have to make a difficult desision when he realises that nothing will stop his old foe from hurting everyone he cares about.

This is a beautifully drawn book. I particularily like the opening where Norman goes to visit the grave of his son, Harry whilst a rainstorm drenches him.

The tone throughout is kept fairly sombre, but there are some refreshing moments of humour in here. In short, something for everyone. Buy it now!
