Good but not great - Rated
A few weeks ago i brought House of M and i thought it was brilliant. I decided i needed to know what happened next so i bought Day after. The main plot was generally good but it had a srange, surreal feel to it.The artwork was good but it seemed it would have fitted better with an ultimates or Deadpool title. There were many clever plot ideas, such as the blob loosing his powers and having huge amounts of skin left over and the X-men fighting alongside the sentenls was a good twist to the plot. If you have read House of M I recomend you by it. If you have not, don't. Nuff said
Decimation has not decimated quality! - Rated
Now it's the day after. The House of M is over, but the effects will be felt for the rest of their lives. First don't bother reading this if you don't plan to buy 'House of M' TPB. This story carries on from House of M and shows us what effect M-Day had on the X-Men, several characters have lost their powers, others still have them but are unsure as to what is going on and the humans are closing in on the decimated race of mutants who are only in their hundreds. The artwork is great, clean, colourful, realistic and some of the best of late in the X titles. The characters are spot on, especially ones like Havok and Cyclops. This book sees the arrival of new heroes and old and begins to explore each character a little more while reeling from the effects of M-Day. I thought this book was a great follow up to House of M and how it began to deal with the situation of the Mutants and the Humans straight away. A great read, it will leave you wanting more.
not bad, with some great art - Rated
Okay, I'm really not a fan of Peter Milligans run on X-men. That said the events going on in the X-men here are interesting. The idea of the mutant population being decimated over night really adds to the danger of the x-men plight and helps deal with the far too many x-men problem. Also the introduction od the O.N.E. squad is intriguing. The story doesn't really go far here, it just sets a new status quo. worth getting for completists.
