Inspiration for the classroom - Rated I have had this book in my classroom for a couple of years now and students use it regularily for ideas to use in thier GCSE and A level coursework. A fantastic book that gets used time and time again. simply helpful - Rated This book holds a vast array of images & instruction on the art of fabric manipulation. The book is easy to read & follow, with lots if images clearly showing the design & process, thus allowing the reader to easily find what they are looking for. If you want to have inspiration &/or technical know-how at your fingertips, then this book will help. We have used it in our Studio as reference for the technicalities of manipulating fabric, but also found, from perusing the pages, that we got great inspiration for new designs or help in solving others...have fun! highly recommended! - Rated fun book full of interesting things to try out. excellent instructions and illustrations of many sewing techniques i've tried to work out for myself over the years. The quilting section expanded on details not covered in standard quilting books. Some of the other techniques covered in the book are interesting but not sure if i'll ever put them to use! To those which know a little - Rated about how to manipulate fabrics, i found it useful for housework as well as fashion, i highly recommend this book if you have already a skill in sewing things and you're interested in knowing more A must-have for the serious sewing room! - Rated This book puts in one place all the different ways you know how to work fabric: pleats, gathers, darts, etc. All the little things you learned over the years and never got to categorize, plus a few new ones you didn't think of yet. This lady deserves a standing ovation for putting together what so many of us know, but never put to paper. The fact that all the work is done on white material adds to the ability to see exactly what she is doing; no prints or stripes to detract from the simplistic beauty of worked fabric. This book is good for any one, be you beginner or experienced sewing hand. It has, in a short 2 weeks, become one of my favorite books and earned the top shelf honors!
