Bargain of the year? - Rated This man's thoughts are very well worth reading and often (surprisingly?) very contemporary eg Ryle on women: "It was not a woman who sold the Lord for thirty pieces of silver. They were not women who forsook the Lord in the garden and fled. It was not a woman who denied Him three times in the high priest's house. But they were women who wailed and lamented when Jesus was led forth to be crucified. They were women who stood to the last by the cross. And they were women who were first to visit the grave "where the Lord lay."" Though you can get much of the 'Expository Thoughts' on the web eg at GraceGems, these are incomplete eg they lack the 'Notes' that follow each section and sometimes appear to be edited down. These volumes, by contrast, appear to be complete, facsimile editions, so you get all the commentary and the Notes, plus the typos and uneven print of the originals - but they remain both legible and very, very readable. Add to this that you get all four volumes for £20. You simply cannot go wrong!
