This is quite an unusual book for the anatomy of the ship series. Even if it obviously gives plenty of information the lines plan is missing and there is not a complete profile showing the tower nor a clear flight deck drawing, so one has to grasp the appearance of the ship from the photographs or cut and paste the different parts together.
Of course, with some patience the shape of the decks can give the same information as the body plan if taken as waterlines, but that is quite time-consuming. Maybe as in 1982 there were some aircraft carriers of this class still in service the US Navy did not want to show the lines, but that sounds bizarre and even more for the reprint in 2003.
