This is one of the books I keep permantly in my fanny pack for ad hoc reference. That along with 'Das Kapital' and 'Mein Kampf'. They are the three pillars that my life surmounts. Also present on my hip are 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' (Deluxe Edition), 'Beekeeping For Dummies' and 'Microfacies of Carbonate Rocks'. Though these latter three are, so far I can see, temporary additions providing ancillary advice to that of my core trinity. Such a crucial part 'ten commandements' has played in this baedeker, there has scarcely been a moral dilemma that couldn't be quelled through it's consultation alone. The only time I've ever had real problems with my system, is when accidentally mis-referncing to 'Beekeeping For Dummies' when 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' would have been the least embarassing choice. Needless to say, she's been catatonic ever since. Wowzer!
Brilliant Book for the modern day Christian - Rated
I bought this book and thought it so good that we are currently using for our home group bible study. So you thought that the Ten Commandments were irrelevant because Jesus did away with all that? Tut Tut read your Bible. The commandments are usually perceived as negative but that really is not so. Get this book and see how the commandments are even more relevant today. Great read.
Rules of Life - Rated
Each chapter covers each of the ten commandments. It explains what each one means and covers and offers practical advice and solutions on how to avoid temptation and how to deal with it when it comes knocking on your door. God's rules for our lives updated and explained in modern terms. Its quite amazing though that human nature has not changed in 2000 years and our sins are the same now as they were then. I would recommend it to any christian or non-christian.
