Great guide for the first time candlemaker - Rated As a beginner candlemaker I found "Candlemaking" extremely helpful. David Constable starts his book with the basics of the fine art of candlemaking (including brief history) providing all necessary information regarding equipment and ingredients used to make candles as well as the safety rules both for making and burning candles. It was very helpful to find the basic recipes and detailed descriptions of the candlemaking process. "Candlemaking" includes quite a number of projects (again each with a listing of ingredients, detailed step-by-step instructions and photographs of the finished products) that will allow one to master this craft. The book describes most of the candlemaking techniques (including pouring, rolling, dipping etc.) as well as finishing techniques and ideas for decorating candles. As in every good guide, there is a list of "when things go wrong" and remedies. The final chapter shows samples of the fine candles made by master candlemakers that have years of experience and their work will surely be the aim for every beginner to achieve.
