How to eat scum...! - Rated 1/5
Yes, algaes are rich in chlorophyll, protein, minerals and other nutrients but they also thrive in acid conditions. And what are they really? The scum you see growing on the surface of stagnant ponds! Toxins in algae have been shown to harm the liver and nervous system and spur tumor growth in animals. Algae do contain vitamin B12, although not in its pure state. It is made by bacteria that gets into the algae via bird feathers and droppings. Fourtunately, a day's dose of B12 can be found in organic broccoli, a far tastier source.

Like that which she examines on TV - a load of old crap - Rated 1/5
This is Dr. Gillian McKeith's Ph.D thesis. Normally, these are some hundreds of pages long and contain original research, backed up either by experimental data or references to peer-reviewed academic journals. This isn't. It's a collection of pseudo-scientific hogwash, backed up by a distinct lack of experimental data and references to journals which include the academically esteemed "Spiritual Nutrition and the Rainbow Diet." There's too many examples of nonsensical pseudo-science in here to list, but claims that blue-green algae will increase the amount of DNA in your body (and so help prevent ageing) and that chlorophyll helps the heart beat stand out from the rest.

I've given this book one star. I nearly gave it five, as, for the amount of amusement and outrage it provoked in me, it was £1.99 well spent.
