This book is one of the worst building/construction books I think I have attempted to get through. Cutting a roof and roof construction is made very complex here and it needn't be. If you are looking for a book to help you cut in a roof and of the different types, and how to do it then for God's sake don't buy this one.
Hmmm? This book is EASY to understand! - Rated
I cannot believe that anyone could ever have problems understanding this treatise on Roof Cutting. The only answer to the inability to become a highly skilled roof cutter is ones lack of general intelligence, or ones bent on negative criticism.
This book is as clear as crystal - I fully recommend it to anyone who desires to cut a near perfect roof.

I purchased the book with a view to getting some help with the design and construction of a pyramid roof for my garage. With many years as an enthusiastic DIY builder and numerous complex projects under my belt, I needed some assistance in efficient layout and calculation for this garage project and an octagonal roofed garden gazebo. It turned out to be THE most unreadable book I've ever purchased. The layout is atrocious with numerous examples of the narrative sending you back and fore within the book and never actually giving the required solution. My advice; take a long slender pole of about ten feet in length and make sure that this book never comes within reach!

I have learnt more about roofing from this book in a short time than years of using lesser books. My only gripe is that it is aimed at the American market and I wish there was a metric version available, but still very useful.
