Having made a permanent move to Spain, I can confirm that Anthony's guide is the best publication of its kind for preparing you for everything you need to know about buying a property in Spain.
It is clear and easy to understand, explaining the spanish terms and procedures, local quirks and hurdles, and discounting many of the rumours you hear whilst going through the process of buying. It's almost like listening to guidance from a good, trusted friend.
I now work for one of the leading Estate Agencies on the Costa Del Sol, and Anthony is known and respected in the area by many of the reputable agencies. He has a vast experience buying and selling property and an abundance of local knowledge. I have also met several happy buyers he has helped through the stressful process of purchasing a property abroad.
I would highly recommend this easy to read book if you are considering the leap to sunnier climes!
Straightfoward, easly to understand and comprehensive - Rated
I bought this book after the recommendations on Amazon and I haven't been disappointed. It is written in a very clear style and starts right at the most important stage - the buying process - that's why we buy these books after all! If you, like me, are a complete novice, I would recommend this book to you at the outset. It also contains information on tax and residence permits, not so relevant for my holiday home purchase. A great find!!

Buying a property in Spain is potentially a tricky business with very different laws and local 'customs' to be aware of. This guide takes you through these in a clear and concise way, with the early chapters covering the detail of the process relating to specific types of property most commonly bought. This approach means that the reader is not continually having to refer to another part of the book to understand the process, although the details of any one part of the process are clearly explained in depth within their own sections.
The author offers to help if you have any questions and was true to his word and so I would highly recommend this book for its content and for the author's knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.

This book is continually by my side. I loaned it at first from the local library, but it became such a valuable resource whilst considering the purchase of a Spanish property, that I just had to buy it for its thoroughness and step by step hints and tips.
I purchased the 8th edition and hope there will be many more to come. Keep up the good work Tony !
