a must buy for lovers of the British tradition of taking tea - Rated
this is a thoroughly comprehensive guide with tempting descriptions that set the taste buds tingling and urge you to get on the move at the weekend and enjoy one of Britain's greatest traditions - that of taking tea. It was given to me as a gift from a relative and I must admit was one of the most exciting I recieved. I have already visited several of the tea rooms listed and if these are anything to go by, the standard set by Margaret Thornby is certainly excellent.
A wonderful resource for all tea-lovers - Rated
This would be a great buy for anyone who loves to take tea in the afternoon (or at any other time of day for that matter). It is full of wonderful descriptions of tea rooms from all over the country and would be really useful to have with you whenever you are travelling round Britain. It is fun to see whether your own favourite tea-rooms are included (if not the author invites you to submit suggestions for the next edition) or just to browse through to see what is on offer, and perhaps plan a trip to visit one that sounds particularly interesting. As well as all the necessary details of opening times, how to get there, disabled access etc., entries also include descriptions of the setting, ambience, specialities and interesting facts. The book might be of particular interest to visitors from overseas who wish to experience a traditional British custom. I am so grateful to the friends who gave me this book for Christmas!
