At Last , a Manual for the Body - Rated
Judy's book is a clear comprehensive guide to achieving a healthier lifestyle. I've been following the guidelines for my blood type and have eradicated my food intolerances, over the last six months and have never felt or looked better. It's logical and easy to refer back to when needing to clarify the information absorbed. I'm so glad that I've come across Judy's book, I think of the body like a car, it needs regular servicing, the best fuel and the best cleaning agents , Well I've found the Manuel!
Fictional or a Real Opportunity to enhance life? - Rated
The extent to which food intolerances have an impact on our general health is massively undervalued. Practitioner advice within the book coupled with examples of real-life experience provide a comprehensive basis for developing an insight into healthy eating. This book acknowledges the vital role of the immune system and provides an enhanced and, on accasion, quite unique approach to the concept of 'balanced' eating. Although initially a culture shock, (due to the directional change in diet) within two weeks I found it captivating where will-power two months later rendered it a blessing. I appeared to lose only the weight which my body needed to lose and after two months my weight stabalised at the point where my ideal weight had been achieved. The book presents an effective programme illustrating clearly how to establish an ideal weight, whilst providing 'the means' for sustained achievement. It can initially appear rather revolutionary and one needs to be dedicated to the programme from the outset. The results will speak for themselves. Ultimately, you will feel much much better! Take it from a true sceptic - it is effective!
stop digging your grave with your knive and fork - Rated
A guideline to my new life style. I have finally learned to love myself and take care of my health starting from what I put into my body. To do it I use this book. Through Judy I have finally accepted that I am what I eat and the food can be as poisonous as a snake. I have learned that sometime what I like is bad for me and why. Following Judy's instructions I have avoided going through operation and daily intake of medicines against heartburn.
Forget diets - get well again and get slim in the process! - Rated
The Body Talks by Judy Cole The first thing to say is that I have followed the eating programme for candida (modified to fit with the O blood type food intolerance list) contained in this book for almost 5 months now. When I began I was suffering from symptoms of candida and irritable bowel syndrome and have had fantastic relief so far. I've eaten 3 good meals and 2 snacks per day, dropped 3 dress sizes, done only gentle exercise, and feel better than I have for years. I look 10 years younger (I've been told by several people independently) and my skin is glowing with health! The emphasis of this book is on regaining and then maintaining optimum health based on a balanced diet which is healthy for the individual. By following the programme, people who are underweight tend to put on the weight they need, whilst overweight people, like myself, watch the excess inches melt away! This fascinating book is based on Judy Cole's findings over several years of treating patients with a variety of health problems, often pronounced 'incurable'. Judy is a trained physiotherapist, kinesiologist, nutritionist and an extremely gifted psychic. In bringing her wealth of experience to bear in treating her clients, she saw distinct patterns emerge. Time after time (she has over 2,500 documented cases to draw on and there are some interesting case studies in the book), she found that people's diet was playing a huge part in their ill health. By eliminating certain foods, some wonderful results took place. The foods which she finds affect people negatively, as seen in her many case studies, are determined largely by blood type. The book lists the most common food culprits to avoid for each blood type and a 3 stage 'diet' or way of eating. Stage 1 is a strict 2 month elimination of all food intolerances, a balanced intake of protein, fat and carbs, but a reduction in the intake of complex carbs. This is what Judy calls the 'cellular detox' stage when you can feel groggy at times as your body rids itself of toxins which have been stored due to the repeated consumption of foods we are intolerant, but not allergic, to (hence we would be largely unaware that these foods were causing us a problem). Stage 2 allows more complex carbohydrates and stage 3 is a maintenance programme where you can reintroduce the foods on your 'forbidden' list. If no strong reaction takes place, then you can eat these foods in moderation about once a week safely, whereas more often than that and you will risk going back to where you started. There is also a wealth of information about various foods and supplements in the book as well as a few recipes. Can I just say, 'Try it!' You have nothing to lose, and hopefully you'll be as delighted as I and several of my friends are, with relief from various uncomfortable symptoms, and a returning sense of health and wellbeing.
A good read - and a sensible way to healthy living ! - Rated
The book is an easy read, well illustrated and clearly set out - once read there's no problem finding points of reference in the book to check understanding and check-up on facts when following a preferred course. The diet regimes really worked for me and opened up a way for healthy living that really worked. I shed just over 20 Kg steadily over a 9 month period and have now settled down to weight and body that I feel is comfortable for me. Best bit is that the book has supported my efforts by providing a ready reckoner of what's good and bad for me !
