New Muslims & Reverts Avoid - Rated 1/5
This translation should be avoided for the fact that the translator is embarrassed of stating that Jinn's are created from fire and are not human beings. This is something that all Muslims accept, it is part of the declaration of faith so the translator Allamah Nooruddin isn't actually Muslim. Because he denies this not only in the main text, but in his translations afterwards. He is right but God is wrong. I bought this Qur'an after searching online and read through it near to the end until i kept coming across uncomfortable explanations of the Jinn.

I later learned Allamah Nooruddin is from a deviated Sect of Islam and not a Muslim. **Amazon please edit this accusation out as you wish but please keep the rest in** So don't make the mistake i did of reading nearly to the end of it thinking the translation is sound. I finished my Qur'an by reading the remaining pages of the Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali & Muhammad Mushin Khan translation. This is the superior translation so I'm told by the Muslims at my mosque. At the very least it acknowledges like all other translations and Muslim wordlwide, that Jinn are beings made from smokeless fire which are hidden from us. However, no translation is the true word of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) which is why I'm learning Arabic Insha Allah and will read the book of God himself as it is intended to be read on my next time around.

Please though do not buy the Allamah Nooruddin version as pretty as it looks, as it contains gross unfair errors from the eyes of someone in a deviated sect who is not actually Muslim. It's a shame because the introduction etc was so nicely written but even one error is enough to shun a work, if that error is big enough. Buy another version from Amazon (Yusuf Ali or the one i mentined i read) but not this.

Amazing translation of Quran - Rated 5/5
THE Holy Quran is the perfect code for all walks of life and this translation has explained them clearly and comprehensively in a way which rates along side some of the most famous and best translations of the past.

All the standards for the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran has been met by Mrs. Amatul Rahman Omer. This translation is in accordance with - a. testimony of the Quran itself, Sunnah or the act/doing of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Hadith or record of saying of the Prophet of Islam and Arabic lexicons.

This translation has helped me brings about spiritual awakening. Use of Paranthesis plays a very important role in this translation. Words within parentheses are either explanations or alternative meaning. Many of the words within parentheses may be used without any parentheses at all, for they are really part and parcel of the text. May Allah accept this effort of Nooruddin, Mr. & Mrs. Omar who helped us (non-Arabic speaking people) understand the true meaning of the Holy Quran in a clearer English. I look forward to further translations by these authors and there organisation.

In short, I will recommend to all who are Muslims or Not, to get this translation and find out the true peaceful religion of Islam, which is so very well explained by the introduction included in this Quran.

There's a very thorough introduction which has the purpose of explaining not only the Holy Q'uran's history and language, but several well chosen points that dispel many of our popular (western) misconceptions about Islam. (ie - womens rights, respect of Christianity and other religions, mis-use of the term "Jihad" etc. )

The book itself is leatherbound and very attractive with gilded edges and cloth ribbon bookmark. The paper is very high quality. I should also mention that the producers of this book are non-profit established by the translator's and carried on today by his family. It is obvious that the authors take great pride in there work, and spreading the message of peace (Islam) to others.

Penertrating and beautifull - Rated 5/5
Been a theology student it is my pleasure to be able to partake in reading many texts that various religious traditions ascribe to as been sacred revelations of divine truth and it is from here that I decided to read the Holy Quran. Coming from a western protestant Christian tradition I have inevitably inherited certain presuppositions and prejudices about Islam and its sacred text the Quran things that, after having read the initial introduction to the Quran and its study what feature at the beginning of this particular edition, have not only been dispelled but well and truly eradicated. The introductory essays provided the reader with a comprehensive reflection on the nature of the Quran as well as giving the reader the basic tools with which to read the text well and take it seriously on its own as a 'classic' work of literature but also, more importantly, to read the Quran in its religious context. This latter point is aided all the more with the inclusion of prayers that are to be said prior to reading and at the end of the Quran as well as indicating the points in the text where the reader is to prostrate to Allah and providing a set prayer with which to use when doing this.

The text itself is, above all, according to a friend reading Arabic at the same university as me, very accurate. It is made all the more profound by the inclusion of bracketed paraphrased explanatory and identifying comments that lead the reader into an ever deepening and penetrating understanding of the text in front of them. Such a presentation of the Quran in regard to the good translation and accompanying comments coupled with the comprehensive and deeply insightful and illuminating introduction have helped my academic study but have also led me into a deeper reflection and relationship with the text, the religious community behind it and the God from whom the Quran claims to impart revelation to humanity, something that has always been the primary aim of the original Arabic text. If the translation and introductorily notes can help with this therefore, which in this edition they do, then the translator and translation must be doing its job properly!

Decent enough - Rated 2/5
The arabic script is a little condensed, so it's not particularly going if you're wanting to improve reading. The translation has too many paratheses to make it very easy going and the introduction is completely disposable, but the core content is fine, and it is rather a handsome volume.
