Fun book for aspiring stage hypnotists - Rated 4/5
This book is fun and easy to read. It has a wide selection of suggestibility tests, inductions and routines for stage hypnosis. It does not deal with therapeutic aspects of hypnosis.

Even if you're not interested in stage hypnosis, you can still benefit from learning suggestibility tests and inductions. Using suggestibility tests will make a great difference when you're using hypnosis on others because they help you to discover the level of rapport you have with the person, the person's willingness and ability to use his imagination, and they also serve as "convicers" for the person that he has been "hypnotized", making the person more receptive to further suggestions. In the end, suggestibility tests, determine the person's willingness to play along at any given time. If they are not in mood to play along at one time, they may be in better mood to play along at some other time - so you don't need to make any definite conclusions regarding the hypnotizability of a particular person. Everyone is hypnotizable - just different people may prefer to get into a trance in a different ways at different times.

The book continues with different inductions and deepeners you can use. It's good to experiment with all of them as they can all come in handy at some point. The variety of methods will also keep learning hypnosis fun.

After the section of routines you can do in stage hypnosis, there is a small section of self-hypnosis - how you can use hypnosis to deal with some common issues. There is much more both to stage hypnosis, and to applications of hypnosis, so when you're finished with this book - keep learning.

When you're done with this book, if you want to learn more about "stage hypnosis" get Ormond McGill's Encyclopedia of Hypnosis.

After reading the reviews I decided to buy the book

This is the first time I have read anything into hypnosis although I have been interested in years. I read the book (only up to the stage hypnosis chapter then I stoped as I have no intention of doing stage hypnosis just yet) and I honestly felt that I had a fantastic understanding of hypnosis after reading.

It is simple- yet imformative. It doesn't waffle- yet it explains things very well. Ive had the book 3 days and I had already tried it out on my g/f. My first attempt went really well (although it was a very very weird feeling as it was my gf etc). I got her into a light trance- managed to wake her up then put back to sleep. She truely was "under". I failed on the bit where you try to make them forget their first name 'cos when she woke up she could remember it.

I will keep trying though!

Good introduction to hypnosis, poor editing - Rated 3/5
I feel this is a pretty good introduction to hypnosis. The content is well structured and straightforward, and is consistent with what I have previously read on the subject. It's an easy read with plenty of scripts and not too heavy going on the theory. But don't expect the humour of a Derren Brown book!

However, the book is let down by very poor editing/proof-reading. The book is self-published I believe and as a self-publisher myself I do understand the difficulties, but it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the book is littered with typographical errors - some particularly blatant - which ruined the flow for me at times. Having said that, nobody else seems to be troubled by it so maybe I'm just a pedant.

Wow! I didn't know I could really do that! - Rated 5/5
This is a fantastic book. Walks you through step by step of how hypnosis works and how to do it on friends, family or strangers!

Want to attract that woman in the bar? Or just want to have some fun laughing at your friends? Maybe you want to regress your parents to when they were younger and find out what they were really like?!

This truly is a great book and I would definately recommend buying it!

Good, better then youd think.... - Rated 4/5
Okay, now since I am a Hypnotherpist, I shall tell you the facts.

This book is good yes, but keep in mind many people in hypnosis have diffrent views.

Also, dont expect just to be able to look at this book and br able to hypnotise, some people need to be hypnotised one way or the other.

also, things like accent, background nosie and views etc all come into the math,

note that they may just be thinking about what you said, as though they were expecting something to happen, they have to let you in. you cant force your way in.

so its good, but id reccomed learning a few inductions and wakeners. (you cant get stuck in hypnosis, you'll wake up sooner or later, unless you've been commanded otherwise.)
