sucks when you're the husband... - Rated 2/5
My wife loves this book, but she's so obsessed with it that she's trying to change my lifestyle too... its especially annoying since I DEFINITELY dont buy into Vegan philosophy. I dont have a problem with Vegan food. Some of it is very good. But I dont like being preached to and this book seems to be doing a lot of it.

The only reason why I gave it 2 stars as opposed to just one, is that because of it, my wife has managed to lose a few pounds and feels better due to some lifestyle changes suggested by the book. But the book's preaching and my wife's subsequent preaching are unnecessary and unwanted side effects.

blah blah blah.... - Rated 1/5
we can all have attitude & swear & i can do sassy with my eyes closed & a bag over my head. so if thats why you're thinking of buying this book - for the hype - don't bother! after the whole do you want to stay a fat b*tch or be a skinny b*tch like us chapter(shocking...) this book boils down to nothing more than a diatribe on meat/dairy eating & is pro-vegan.

i'm vegetarian (but a naughty one who eats fish...well there are lots of them out there aren't there? plus my thing is i won't eat any of our furry or feathered friends. fish don't count. its my rule & i'll stick to it if i want to & no skinny b*tch wil tell me otherwise!! i have no problem with meat eaters & i cook meat for my two sons...each to their own...) & i'm sure i enjoy a far healthier diet than they do with their faux tuna & stand against diary. like i say blah blah bloody blah... how they must be the life & soul of the party/restaurant...not.

funny how they even admit they are just full of it though in interviews. they admitted neither knew how to cook as they lived off fruit/nuts & frozen vegan food...yum. so for their 'cook book' they had to hire a chef!

A fun and illuminating read! - Rated 4/5
I have read many books on nutrition and this one is certainly out of the ordinary. It was a fun read, to say the least! The pro-vegan approach sneaks in rather unexpectedly, but was quite illuminating and thought provoking. Although I am an aspiring vegetarian, I doubt that I will ever manage to go as far as becoming vegan, as such the book does not provide sufficient alternatives.

Fun and fabulous.. and a kick up the arse - Rated 5/5
IMO this book is what a lot of people need. If you strip away the "turn vegan" arguments then what you get is two women who want to share their way of staying slim and healthy, and really what counts is their no-nonsense attitude. If you don't like it, go on Atkins or something because they've chosen to share their own way and they're not forcing it on anyone.

Although you may not agree with being vegan, all of their points are backed up by research and their sources are listed in the back of the book.

Since going vegan I've never felt better. I honestly never get food cravings anymore and find food in general easy to resist when I'm not hungry!
And to boot, the weight is dropping off...

The authors veered slightly off course. - Rated 2/5
People who bought this book expecting to read a no nonsense approach to sensible eating have every right to feel disappointed. Had the authors paid more attention to the health disadvantages of eating animal derivatives, most readers would not have felt deceived. I personally feel there are no benefits to eating meat or anything derived from it but I don't agree people should be steam rolled into becoming vegans. Most people are aware of the controversy surrounding the treatment of farm animals and still eat meat. The book should have stuck solely to educating people about the risk to health and should have explained in more detail how eating meat also contributes to obesity.

I felt the book started off well but then veered off into slightly dangerous territory. The cover is misleading and does not give any real insight into what the reader is really purchasing. I felt the authors failed to follow their own, very wise advice.. "be careful not to preach"!
