Customer Reviews

Like Self Discovery by numbers - Rated 1/5
Sharma has basically tried to pull off what might have been a very neat trick; a 'self-help' manual written in the form of a novel. I'll not mention The Celestine Prophecy here, since that was almost a quasi-religious story. But whoops, I just did.
Since I mentioned religion, I should make a confession. I didn't finish this book. I found the themes and concepts so patronising and the narrative so cheesy that I could bear it no longer. Everything that happened in the book was a device to illustrate some point or other that was being made, so it quickly became very flimsy and see-through.
The dialogue was even worse, like when 'The Saint' hands our hero some chocolate, which he eats, then exclaims 'It's bitter-sweet!' to which the Saint replies 'That's right. Just like life.'
I recommend you go on your own journey of self-discovery, rather than reading this contrived tale.

Will really make you think about what's important in life - Rated 4/5
I whizzed through this book, having read other Robin Sharma books. It really makes you re-evaluate your whole life and what is really important. At the end you have a vision that if everyone followed the guidance written hear - what a lovely place the world would be. However, by following the advice written, the world does become a more wonderful place!
