For anyone looking to improve the results of their actions - Rated 5/5
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is putting all the hard work into achieving their goals but hardly seeing any positive results. Reading this book helped me understand the metaphisics of intention and gave me the tools to use it as a power to living an even more fulfilling life. Use it as a stepping stone to becoming a more evolved person and put in a lot of energy to learn how the power of intention works. Have fun!

The Book That Changed My Life! - Rated 5/5
This is the book that changed my life!

Of all the books I have read, this outstanding work by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has caused a turn around in my life; in the way I look at life; in the way I live it. It is exciting, and refreshingly different. How different?

Well, to begin with, in his preface, Dr. Dyer sends the reader to the last chapter in the book first! Chapter 15, entitled A Portrait of a Person Connected to the Field of Intention, is the author's attempt to show the impact that this work can have upon an individual. After reading it I have no doubt that you will go back to the beginning for what will probably be the beginning of a "new you".

Dr. Dyer's thesis is contained in Part 1, The Essentials of Intention. Consisting of the first six chapters, it is here that he slowly and carefully constructs his concept. From Viewing Intention From A New Perspective, through a description of The Seven Faces Of Intention, to Chapter 6, Intention and Infinity, the reader is led to the conclusion: "Just as love is eternal, so is this my true nature. I'll never be afraid again, because I am forever." He then asks, "You are in the truest sense, as I've said previously, either a human being having an occasional spiritual experience, or an infinite spiritual being having a temporary human experience. Which of those gives you a feeling of love? And which inspires fear?"

Throughout, these six formulating chapters, Dr. Dyer draws from some of the great minds of our time and in history: Hermes, Emily Dickinson, John Keats, Swami Chidvilasananda, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Mahatma Gandhi, Max Planck and Dr. David R. Hawkins, to name a few. Each chapter ends with a five point "how to" section to assist the reader in implementing the ideas just covered.

The second section of the book, entitled Putting Intention to Work, contains eight chapters, each offering specific information and a step-by-step guide for applying the principles developed in the first section to the daily life situations we all face at one time or another.

The last section, consisting of one chapter, is that which I referred to at the beginning of this review. As you read it for the second time you know that this is a book you will read again, and again. I have recommended this book to just about everyone I know, and will continue to do so at every opportunity.

Get this book! It changed my life, and I know it will change yours.

I have suffered badly from depression for several years, and I have even attempted suicide on a number of occassions. I find it very hard to trust people because of all the times that I have been used and abused, this book has really helped me turn my life around and now I see that as long as I am happy with me the person I was and am ment to be, what does it matter what anybody else thinks. I am now more in control of my life than I ever was, and it is all thanks to this book. I know I still have a long way to go but I am on the right road - and I am finally happy with who I am and where I am going. Thank You DR Wayne Dyer for allowing me to see that I am worth while, and who cares what anybody else thinks - if they don't like you, then nobody's perfect.

Fantastic! - Rated 5/5
I am beyond grateful for Dr Wayne Dyer's work. He gives you the theory and then the tools for transforming your life. He also explains everything in a way that makes you fully understand your own potential in this Universe. This book is essential for spritually interested people who want to expand their minds, understand more, and who want to create their own future!

I suggest that you pass on this book. Unnecessary. - Rated 3/5
Now, I'm not adverse to co-creating or re-creating my world my way, however, when I stand back and consider a bigger picture I would rather focus on parenting and insuring that my children will have better chances of success than I. I think this point is missed in "The Power of Intention." We act and react in the way we do largely due to the experiences we received during our influential years. It is helpful to maintain those skills we absorbed that are healthy and helpful, while eliminating those skills that are less helpful and healthy. I'm not sure it is too productive to begin completely recreating our perceptions of our world when we already have a pretty good base that might benefit from a tweak or tune-up. What Dyer suggests sounds good on the motivational speaker circuit but is probably not too practical for the masses. I suggest that you pass on "The Power of Intention" but rather take a look at "Systemic Parenting: An Exploration of the Parenting Big Picture" - written by a family therapist named Mark Gaskill. Don't let the name fool you, this book is about all relationships not just the parent-child relationship. There is a quote on the cover that states "It's almost as though this book is about everything - or maybe everything is about parenting" - J.M. Shaw Ph.D. I could not sum it up better. I cannot say the same about the Power of Intention.
