colourful and fun for a baby: plus lightweight and cheap! - Rated I picked this up for my youngest son who's just six months and hadn't shown much interest in even the simplest books yet - there's too much going on in a house with older siblings - but he has looked at this. Poppy Cat is a friendly looking little character and there's a simple rhyming text with fairly bright colours on each page and an appealing set of shiny coloured flowers on the final double page. The illustrations are fairly bright so they do catch an infant's eye. As this is a special edition for World Book Day 2005, this board book isn't as sturdy as some which is good as it is less heavy for a child to hold or a parent to transport.
