What a fab book! - Rated
I bought this book for my son Joseph who is 4, because it was in a school link magazine and had great ratings. He absolutely loves it, and so does his sister Ellie who is 9! He loves Sir Charlie who is very brave, but also loves me to read about the monsters and wiggly woos which aren't frightening at all. The illustrations are really good, and there are some pages where you have to lift the flaps to reveal what is going to happen next. A really great story which has soon become a family favourite!

My son aged 2.5 has been asking me to buy this ever since it went back to the library, even though we can both recite much of it from memory. It appeals to both of us, and should prove a good introduction to stories of more mature knights and dragons. The text is a joy to read, with enough repetition for the youngest audience. The illustrations are perfect, with a youthful knight and exuberant monsters. The fold-out pages are very well designed and quite robust. Even the different fonts are very readable and not too gimicky. We will be looking out for more by Kristina Stephenson.

I picked this up for my four year old unable to resist the title as I knew anything with the word 'stinky' in it would tickle his interest. It is wonderfully illustrated and the different font styles and sizes coupled with some lift the flap pages adds a further fun dimension and kept his attention from wandering. There is plenty going on to keep young readers thoroughly entertained: the beasties, dragons and witch make it exciting in a completely novel and non-threatening way. Would recommend for readers 4+ and hope this is the start of a series of adventures for young Sir Charlie.

My daughter was given this lovely book as a fourth birthday present and it has since become our favorite book of the moment. It easy to read flows nicely and has fantastic illustrations, including pop up and pop out pages. I was concerned that 'beasties' and Dragon might not be appropriate bedtime reading, however they are made harmless very easily by the courageous Sir Charlie Stinky Socks. I would recommend this funny well-put together book.
