Really enjoyed this book - some great lines in it such as 'Thanks, Thanks a million, thanks without end' and the dog fetching & dropping & fetching again.
My 19 month old loves the pictures and all the animals & I love the story.
Would highly recommend.

I am still pleased when my girls (5 and 2) choose this book at bedtime. My daughter who is 2 and a half particularly likes it. I love it, love the clever ideas in the book about what stickman is used for, and I often have to brush away a tear at the end. Why I don't know I should have got over it by now with all the times I've read it. Love the ending.
Disappointing...... - Rated
We love JD and AS books, and buy them without hesitation....This is the second book(after Tiddler) that we were a bit disappointed in, and hence it has not been read much at all. It is a bit difficult to point a finger as to why but there is something about the story making it unappealing: can someone help this Stick Man, please!!!
We will continue to buy JD's books as they come out; however, will need to be more careful from now on....

Julia Donaldson has created another wonderful book for children with a funny and moving story that lilts along. A joy to read for adults and kids alike.

Lovely book with the typical rhyming style of Julia Donaldson and those beautiful and detailed illustrations by Axel Scheffler. My son (2.5 years) loves it as it is a funny story which keeps his interest till right to the end and lots of giggles! With its little twist at the end of the story when Santa Clause appears through the chimney it is a great book for Christmas too. I would recommend this book for ages 2+.
