Customer Reviews

It's bad - Rated 1/5
The techniques contained in this book are all the cheesy dated techniques everyone, in sales or not, have come to understand and loath.

Don't get me wrong, cold calling has it's place and it's tough going, but this book isn't about face to face selling as it is convincing people to buy rubbish with all the obvious sleazy techniques that come's with it.

You may not find it's references to selling self closing toilet seats and so forth much help. I sure didn't.

Over rated - Rated 1/5
What a waste of money. The techniques in this book are so old hat it is untrue. You'd get more tips from watching 'Tin Men' it really is that bad. He has clearly targeted an American audience, though from his anecdotes (some of which sound like pure fiction) I doubt he has ever left Scotland.

All in all it seems as if he has stolen ideas from other more respectable books, and cobbled them all together in this poorly written, poorly laid out, wafer thin book.

Only worth reading if you are door to door sales, utililty sales or a door canvasser. Even then only worth reading if you are completely new to the game, have no sales training and little common sense. You have been warned.

Rip-off - Rated 1/5
The worst sales book I have ever read. I felt so ripped off for paying so much for so little. It's as thin on pages as it is on ideas - about the thickness of a wafter biscuit. Don't buy this blatantly bad attempt at continuing a blatantly bad sales career.

Red Rock cider - Rated 1/5
Like Red Rock cider, which isn't red and has no rocks in it, this book is not particularly simple and has no secrets in it. O.K, there is the odd useful tip, but nothing that has not been said oft before. Nor is there about inspirational selling. This book neither shocked nor inspired me, in fact, it's possibly the dullest book I've ever read on selling. Very disappointing, considering the other 'rave' reviews.

Simplicity Works - Rated 5/5
I have just came in from another days selling & i am excited as can be about my success today. The tactics explained in this book where a little shocking to me and i was very nervous, or even a little afraid about trying them out. BUT THEY REALLY DO WORK.

I initially and wrongly assumed these methods only worked with the Brits, but boy was i wrong..This is a must read and dont be afraid to try the tactics, i can testify that they work.
