Customer Reviews

loved it - Rated 5/5
We just brought an VW conversion took this book on our first trip and even my non reading hubby read bits and had a giggle . Funny and lighthearted Having camped in france taking bikes could relate to a lot of the "two clots" jaunts.
Would recomend this book to anyone who is, or dreams to travel for a few weeks around europe.

Turgid - Rated 1/5
Whoever told Steve Coppard he could write did the world a disservice. This book details a series of non-events on the travels of a pretty dull couple in a style which is irritatingly 'chatty' and utterly unimaginative, and has a nasty undercurrent of patronising racial stereotypes. Maybe if they hadn't spent so much time drinking, they could have noted some more interesting details of the places they visited. If you met these people on holiday, you'd hide in your tent.

Two Clots - A treat. - Rated 5/5
If you're a seasoned reader, or just looking for something to read on the bus to work - this light hearted book will hold you chapter for chapter. Coppard (first time published, I believe) has captured a journey that almost makes you feel you went on holiday with them - as you drive through each chapter (and you must read a whole chapter at a time, there never seems to be a right place to leave it).

Quite simply - if you're going to Thailand, read Alex Garland, if your going out of the galaxy read Douglas Adams but if your going to Europe or driving the rays in your garden - read Steve Coppard!

Raised many a smile! - Rated 5/5
I think the previous comments from Turgid the knitting fairy (where the hell did that name come from?)are a little harsh. The overview states that this is not a serious travel journal, but a humourous recollection of how NOT to tour europe.
Agreed, the editing leaves a lot to be desired, but that is down to the publisher, many folk have enjoyed the jaunty style and naivety of the book.
I can assure you that we have received many emails from various parts of the world stating how much they enjoyed the book and more importantly, can relate to it.

Happy Travels, Steve.
