Perfect for introduction and guidance into data analysis - Rated 5/5
As a SAS user, I was looking for the way of combining the advantage of SAS, efficient data management, and survival analysis as relatively newer technique. Very often I had to use several statistical S/W for one data analysis project. As soon as I found this book, I could stay only in SAS and use it effectively for survival data analysis. If you have the same problem, this book gives you the perfect solution. This book deals with both theory and method for survival analysis so that even novice will be able to learn quickly and apply to their research context.

If you follow contents step by step with programming and running from the beginning about basic concepts, in a week you would find yourself far from "confusion" or "chaos".

Especially for me, the chapter about repeated event seems to be best among similar books for survival analysis or event history modeling. It provides readers with up-to-date procedures such as WLW method and FEPL method, rather than conventional methods.

The only weak point is that it does not give many examples in diverse contexts, which may give better hints or intuitions about when or where they should apply this tool. Nonetheless, this book remains second to none among similar books because this criticism may apply not only to this book but also to similar books.

Best how-to book on survival analysis using SAS. Very useful - Rated 5/5
This book is well-written, well-organized, and very practical. I found it invaluable in conducting my research. My only recommendation for the author for his next edition is to include a chapter on dealing with correlated event times, like time-to-promotion and time-to-quiting in his policemen example (pg 249).
