Don't bother - Rated This book does not provide enough detailed information to construct windows and doors from scratch. It concentrates more on the fitting of pre-constructed windows and doors to US-style timber built properties. If like me, you are a competent joiner looking for specific detail on construction techniques for windows and doors, then give this one a miss. It will teach you nothing, except the US equivalent Jargon for the things that you already know. Lot's of photos here, not much usable content. Not for Poms! - Rated I was very disappointed. From the title I had expected to read a book about how to make custom designed and sized windows and doors. Instead the book instructs American artisans how to fit and hang doors and windows. Many of the tips are useful but the jargon!! If I can understand the jargon I would obviously be expert enough not to need the book, but then, to an American it may not appear jargon. Very disappointing ....

I was very disappointed. From the title I had expected to read a book about how to make custom designed and sized windows and doors.
