The Klutz books - Rated I bought the Klutz book Ribbon Purses for my Grand daughter. I am very impressed this these books. They are inexpensive to buy and great for encouraging young people to be creative. Excellent quality sewing set with great instructions. - Rated I love the Klutz books. I don't know how I'd get through the school holidays without them. This is another 5 star set which is probably best suited to the over 10s or those handy with a small needle and very small stitches. The ribbon is good quality and wide and there are paper clips to hold your ribbon in place while you sew, cording for long purse handles, seed beads, fancy beads and big beads, metal clips to attach your purse to a key chain and needles and threads to sew with. Items can be stored in the plastic containers on the book. The book also has a handy ruler on the back cardboard page so it makes it easy to measure out ribbon and thread. The only item you need to provide yourself is scissors. The instructions are very detailed and well illustrated so they are very easy to follow, even for a novice. You get instructions on how to sew a basic purse, beaded fringe purse, cord handle purse, button flap purse and small loop purse. These purses are very small and miniature - just about pound coin size but the instructions could easily be scaled up with larger ribbon or material. Christmas cake ribbon is ideal. Highly recommended.
