doonks opinion - Rated 5/5
Ok, so lets be straight folks. We know he is a showman , a rhetorical genious, a martyr to a pointless job (of finishin off christianity), a legend, an antichrist and for marys sake...a saint! but he still has it dont he. That ability to melt our hearts, fill us with passion and awake every last lethargic spirit in our soul. Who will deny his eternity, his love of infinity...go on i dare you....believe his hope in humanity. his love of the future. his evry delight in expression...then u r something. then u r a man. then i will allow u to tae say sofin on is behalf...that l do i suppose.

Not very well translated - Rated 3/5
Nietzsches controversial views are made succinctly in German and are normally OK when they get translated. But I found this book had been translated strangely. Also, I was disappointed in reading the Antichrist - it did what I expected (which was the good bit) but also exaggerated and came to strange conclusions. Protecting the weak and the women in society is surely a virtue, not a vice?

NIETZSCHE: ABOUT ANTIQUITY AND CHRISTIANITY - Rated 5/5
As to Nietzsche christianity was the cause for the decline of the classic, antique civilisation and the most considerable "promotor" for the herd instinct, the spiritual levelling, for decadence.

The Antichrist (1888, written months before he fell ill to death) contains THE MOST FURIOUS ATTACKS by Nietzsche against christianity. It is as if this criticism that we encounter in all of his writings, has been like a fester in his mind and whole spirit that bursts out here as an incredible, tremendously powerful explosion.
"I BRING YOU THE MOST TERRIBLE DENUNCIATION AGAINST THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH THAT HAS EVER BEEN CHARGED AS ANY ATTORNEY GENERAL EVER HAS DONE. I WILL WRITE DOWN THIS ETERNAL CHARGE AGAINST CHRISTIANITY EVERYWHERE WERE THERE ARE WALLS, I EVEN DISPOSE OF SPECIAL LETTERS TO EVEN MAKE THE BLIND SEE.".

The reason for Nietzsche to do/write so, is because he found christianity, with Paul and the ancient fathers of the christian church in front (NOT the person of "Jesus" as so often misinterpreted!), GUILTY for the decline of the ANTIQUITY. Christianity was the vampire of the IMPERIUM ROMANUM. As the author was a hughe admirer of antiquity, not to say that he saw it as a kind of ideal world, a greater denunciation is indeed hard to think of as to him.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR EVERYONE (sic!!!). Lots of people talk about the book, but have never read it, for different reasons. Some amongst them "HATE" Nietzsche - BUT that is hardly a reason at all, others are afraid the read is too difficult for them. This book is only about 100 pages, has SOME difficult stuff to read on A FEW PAGES - but certainly NOT THE WHOLE WORK!
THIS IS ONE OF THE MASTERPIECES (everyone should have read already) OF NIETZSCHE, WHICH I WARMLY RECOMMEND from the bottom of my whole being: A REAL MUST in which you can see Nietzsche really fulminating on the very highest level (in every way and sense!) ever done. A FANTASTIC BOOK THAT YOU WILL RE-READ.

To Satan-- a Book - Rated 5/5
Rudolf Steiner, the amazing Austrian educator, philosopher and occult initiate, said that this, the last book written by Nietzsche (whom he knew personally to some extent) was, although penned by Nietzsche, the first book in human history written by Ahriman (or Satan), one of the Trinity of Evil (the others being Lucifer and Adzura).

Nietzsche went raving mad less than a year after completing the book and was detained while wandering the streets of Turin; he died after spending a long time in a kind of semi-comatose state of mental collapse.

The cold glittering brilliance of this book strikes one immediately. The logic appears irrefutable --at first. However, on reflection, it is what is left out of the argument which dents the arguments. for example, Nietzsche (Ahriman?) castigates the (undeniably) physically filthy and unwashed Christian conquerors of the Moors for closing the bathhouses of Cordoba and elsewhere. Yet it might well be that those bathhouses were closed to prevent immorality and perversity(?) Who knows?

Every library should have this book, whatever one's actual beliefs. A very important book indeed.

energetic and powerful - Rated 5/5
This short book is perhaps the most successful refutation of Christianity. Nietzsche pulls no punches as he ruthlessly dissembles Christian doctrine and tears to shreds those who dare to be Christian Apologists. The AntiChrist is Nietzsche at his best, and is a must for Christians and non-Christians alike.
