Its the way you tell it - Rated
I wont write any spoilers, but this is an old and pretty tired story with no real new twists to it. However, the fact that JMS manages to produce what has been one of the best graphic novels i've read, is teastament to the guys story telling. It has a real epic/cinematic feel, yet retains a warmth to it. The pacing is energetic but never leaves you lost and probaly best of all the story actually feels finished and resolved.
I would agree with the other review, in that, it would of been a welcome change if the hero was a little less chisselled and Silvestri, but you tend to overlook that as story progresses.
Buy it, it left me fully satisfied
Very enjoyable - Rated
From the creator of Babylon 5 and the excellent Supreme Power graphic novels - a most enjoyable tale of people who fall through the cracks of life and end up fighting a fairly demonic force to survive and often regain their souls. Nice central characters, the usual excellent artwork from Gary Frank, some fine dialogue and a nicely evolving plotline. Shame the hero had to be the usual broad-shouldered, muscular, square-jawed blonde adonis (even if, mentally, he's a sound enough guy). A more mundane looking character would have made this perfect and prompted me to give the full five stars. But it's a mature and intelligent comic book (all eight issues collected in this nice and chunky graphic novel) which should appeal to those who like something more than superheroes and villains beating up on each other.
