Customer Reviews

Refreshingly free of rubbish - Rated 5/5
Great book which really opens your eyes, or simply reminds you how much the US and other countries lie. It is an eye-opening look into the extent of US and Western European hypocrisy. The book is made up almost entirely of quotations though, which can mean that it is slightly hard going but basically it is all easy to understand and although the information it presents is hard to swallow you find yourself having to force it down simply because of the respected sources that Chomsky draws it from. Very well researched book and a must for anyone who has a sneaking feeling that the US and the West aren't as perfect as they like people to think. If you liked this another great one to get by Chomsky would be 'Media Control' which also makes for very compelling reading.

Another Chomsky Masterpiece - Rated 5/5
Another Chomsky masterpiece comparing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with US foreign (and home) policy. The book is in three parts – the narrative and text by Chomsky (52 pages), the 112 references he uses throughout his writings and the full text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (the book is 78 pages in all).

Chomsky is a master at ripping US policy apart and exposing the real plan under it all. His observations on the US prison system are as damning as his points on US sponsorship of foreign dictators and their bloody campaigns against defenceless civilians.

I recommend this book to everyone

An essential read for all to see through the lies of the US - Rated 5/5
Chomsky yet again excells himself, this time providing a clear and concise example of the American Government's hypocrisy. He cites many examples of how America has gone astray from its "honourable declarations" and has broken the Universal Declaration of Human rights, again eschewing its role as a global humanitarian power.
