A Breath of Fresh Air in a few Pages - Rated 5/5
Schritt has managed to pack in so much meaning and warmth into this book, that it'll not only keep you warm during winter, but thinking, thinking and then thinking some more....

I guarantee you'll be smiling at the end of this book. Not because of how the story unfolds, but because you will have taken something exceptional from it!

E.E.Schmitt's trilogy - Rated 4/5
"Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran" and "Oscar and the Lady in Pink": "

These are the second and third volumes of Schmitt's trilogy on different religions (the first, 'Milarepa', is about buddhism).

These two are quite similar in the style and content, and both are very readable and bring a 'warmth of feeling'.

Schmitt's books have diverse reactions, but these two have been read (very)favourably by everyone that I know who have read them (+/- 10 up till now, including my two teenage children).

His style is simple, philosophical, humanitarian, cross-religion, and thought-provoking: easy-to-read, but he puts forward quite a lot of ideas that can be discussed.

He seems to have got some ideas from another French writer, Romain Gary - but then, Schmitt is apparently well-read generally in philosophy and religion and gets lots of ideas from many other sources too!.
