Useful guide to the effective implementation of change - Rated This builds on Kotter's earliar work.Written by Dan Cohen a Consultant with Deloitte,it brings out what helps or hinders change, and follows Kotter's eight stage change process. The diagnostic checklists are a bit tiresome, however the guidance provided throughout the book is very useful, step 8 on making stage stick is a good example.The 'more resources sections' are a strength. It certainly merits four stars I did not feel it was worth Five stars.Another alternative is "Strategic Organisational Change" by Ellen Auster,I have read this several times and like the strategic organisational change framework and the action orientated approach.The layout from the readers point of view is better than Cohens book. In summary as an Interim Manager/Consultant who has been involved in Change Management.I would see this Field guide having a place on your bookshelf if you are handling Change Management in your organisation.Given the wide range of quality material in this field it is worth casting your net a little wider than just this book.
