Nicely written, poor design. - Rated
The book is a nice insight into Japanese culture and Tokyo life from a visitor's perspective; reading it will surely make you want to book the next available flight.

However, as with a lot of books on Japan, it's all rather gushing. Everything is true but it just sounds so perfect - which it isn't.

The book has no personality, the author's name not appearing anywhere on the cover. Probably because it's a series, but makes it feel more like a brochure.

The design is obviously meant to appeal to the hip; ("citiescape" - yuk!), but with type on a silver or cobalt blue background it's difficult and annoying to read no matter how fashionable you are.
