Customer Reviews

Funny Funny Funny - Rated 5/5
Why on Earth would anybody think to write a book about something so obscure and trivial as all the places in Britain that begin with a letter Z? And even if they did, they wouldn't actually bother travelling to all these places would they? Well, someone did and someone would. And the results are very very funny indeed.

Dixe Wills is a genius. A slightly strange genius perhaps, but all the better for that. Buy this book now, and revel in the brilliant strangeness of it all. If you don't love it, there's something wrong with you.

The perfect toilet book! - Rated 5/5
By this I am not referring to the modern youth vernacular that would demean this book as "that book is proper toilet!" but rather as a book that is perfect to put into the toilet, or again, more pedantically, not the toilet bowl but the area in which said bowl is housed!

Once there, leaning against Julie Burchill's Guardian Columns 1998-2000 (or somesuch) you will be greated on each visit with a section perfectly matched in duration to the average length of number 2! Thus, an already highly enjoyable activity will be even further enhanced by this witty little tome. Maybe it will even increase your general health and well-being by causing you to visit the small room more frequently?

Do buy this book - you really won't regret it, you'll be entertained, made to laugh and you'll even learn some new stuff as well. If only other areas of life could be so improved by merely buying things....

Perfect Toilet Book! - Rated 5/5
By this I don't mean "oi, that book is toilet!" as in the modern youth vernacular. Instead, I mean that this book is perfect to be placed in your toilet area (next to Julie Burchill's Guardian Columns 1998-2000)and then read when otherwise detained in said room.
Each section is of perfect No.2 length and will only enhance an already highly enjoyable activity. I simply can't recommend it highly enough.
Go on, take your toilet activities to the next level...

Hilarious off-the-wall reading matter - Rated 5/5
I cannot begin to describe how funny this book is. I simply couldn't put it down. The text is peppered with laugh-out-loud moments and some hilarious photographs.

I would strongly urge anyone with a sense of humour to buy this, and while they're at it, buy it for a friend (and would urge the marketing department at Icon to seriously re-think the jacket colour).

Faultless comedy genious!

Essential reading for all - Rated 5/5
Much much more than an extremely witty and amusing analysis of the British towns that flounder at the nether region of the alphabet, it provides a reflection from a unique perspective on many of the often neglected attributes of Britain.

A perfect Christmas gift for that "difficult" relative or friend.
